Board of Review (BOR) Members Needed
Gilmore Township, which includes the Village of Elberta, is looking for individuals to serve on the Board of Review (BOR). The BOR independently adjudicates taxpayer challenges to assessor valuations based on the facts and law.
If needed, the board meets one time in July and one time in December of each year. In March of each year, the board meets for one organizational meeting and two full days of review.

Established in 1867, Gilmore Township is a civil township of Benzie County, Michigan. The population was 813 at the 2020 census. The township contains the Village of Elberta and is bordered on the north by the city of Frankfort. The narrow township is located between Crystal Lake Township to the north and Blaine Township to the south, as well as a short boundary with Benzonia Township to the east. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 7.5 square miles, of which 7.1 square miles is land and 0.39 square miles, or 4.89%, is water.
